Welcome to the Red Rose Land Rover Club website.
We`re not far away from the War of the Roses 2008 now, so would all members please consider whether you can help the overall event run smoothly over the weekend and be a great success by volunteering for one (or more) of the following; 1) On the Friday, you could help to set up the RTV trial. It will mean that you have to drive offroad all day over the Lakeland Fells finding a dozen or so out of the way places that are a suitable challenge for landrovers to drive over or even to get stuck in! I know it sounds tough but, someone has to do it!!!! and it could be you. As well as helping the event it is also a rare opportunity to practice your off road driving without the pressure of being in a competition. Please contact me through the website e-mail if you can help. 2) On the Saturday, you could volunteer to Marshall for the RTV. We normally have 30+ Land Rovers entering and we need as many marshalls as possible to make the event run smoothly. All you need is a pen! 3) On the Sunday, you could volunteer to be a Marshall for the War of the Roses. You will be allocated a task and will see each of the teams in turn attempt your challenge. If you have never done this sort of thing before, don`t worry as you will be placed with experienced colleagues who will soon show you what is required. Please contact Andy Taylor to volunteer for this, most important, job - andy@astaylor.demon.co.uk or ring 01772 745927
Louise Limb (Freelance Journalist) has allowed me to put some of her pictures of Kevins dramatic rollover at the Northern Challenge on the Gallery page. Louise`s full story of the day will be published in Land Rover World soon, so keep a look out for it in the shops. If you didn`t witness it on the day, take a look at the gallery and you`ll see why marshalls will shout at you if you put your arms outside the roll cage!
Haven`t you always wanted a Series 1? Well, now is your chance, as one is for sale in our Classified Ads. OK, you may have a bit of work to do on it, but you know it`ll be worth it in the end. And it will avoid paying annual tax to the Government - A good enough reason on it`s own!
We hope that you will find all of the information on this site to be helpful and informative, whether you are a club member seeking out the next trial date and location ( - see the "Club Events" page, by the way) or have had no previous contact with Red Rose Land Rover Club, but share our passion for all things Land Rover (and if you do why haven`t you joined the club?). Please feel free to browse our site and to add it as a link on your site if you wish. If you experience any problems, broken links or missing pages, please let us know by e-mail at the address shown at the bottom of this page and we will endeavour to fix it.
The Red Rose Landrover Club holds many events throughout the year in the North West of England for the benefit of club members, whether they are interested in Caravaning Weekends (often on private sites), Shows (such as Darwen Gala or Woodvale Rally), Fund Raisers (anyone fancy driving off road from one end of the country to the other?) and Off Road Trials (for all types of Land Rovers from new Freelanders to Winch Equipped Hybrid Specials). The club has two chosen charities which it supports throughout the year - These are Derian House and the North West Air Ambulance.
If there is any other activity that you want the club to provide, that isn`t already catered for, (NO! - not Rambling) why not put it forward for our illustrious (?) committee to discuss. Any club is only as good as its members, so please help it to be one of the best by getting involved, instead of sitting back and letting others do all the work.
You will also find a forum linked from the site on which you will be able to discuss anything to do with Land Rovers or Red Rose Land Rover Club with other club members or visitors.
